University of Southern California
ABOUT:
The IML department at USC is a multimedia lab designed for new technology research, instruction, and application. Its mission is to actively recruit students from a variety of disciplines to learn how to incorporate technology more effectively.
WHAT WE DID:
SIDIAN was asked to create a new beta experimental web portal to foster the online relationship between students and instructors. We developed a comprehensive plan for student-instructor interaction including class creation, direct messages from students to instructors, group meetings, and more. What began as one portal evolved into two; instructors were able to assign projects to their full class roster, check students’ progress, and then repost final projects to a secondary website that promoted the Institute for Media Learning to the public.
DELIVERABLES:
Creative Design, PHP Coding/Development, Strategy, UI/UX Design, and Copywriting
RESULTS:
Web portals were built according to specification. Student volunteers tested the system during the semester while data was being recorded. The IML department is now working to secure more grant funding to begin the next round of development.
