University of Southern California
The Institute for Media Learning relies on Sidian to jumpstart their online multimedia/learning initiative.
The IML department at USC is a multimedia lab designed for new technology research, instruction, and application. Their charge is to actively recruit students from throughout a variety of disciplines to learn how to incorporate technology more effectively.
In the Summer of 2008, Sidian was asked to create a new beta experimental Web Portal to foster the online relationship between students and instructors. What began as one portal evolved into two, where instructors can assign project assignments to their full class roster, check their progress, and then repost final projects to a secondary website promoting the Institute for Media Learning to the public.
Sidian developed a comprehensive plan for student/instructor interaction including class creation, direct messages from students to instructors, group meetings, and more.
Results: Web portals were built according to specification. Student volunteers have been testing the system during the semester, while data is being recorded. The IML department is now working to secure another round of grant funding to begin the next round of development.

City of Austin
The City of Austin and Sidian Agency join forces to promote healthy lifestyles.
The City of Austin’s Health and Human Services Department develops programs to promote health safety and well being for nearly a million residents. These campaigns target a wide variety of people, including at-risk populations. In 2007, Sidian Agency worked on a variety of overlapping projects including the following campaigns:
- iThrive - Website promoting healthy living to minorities.
- Mom Starts Now – Exploratory maternal and child health text message campaign incorporating art direction, custom illustrations, motion graphics, PSA production (print to tape and HD for NationalCinemedia), flash banner ad design/development, and poster design.
Results: City noted a rise in awareness for their at-risk services.
